The Essential Oil of the Month: Spearmint

You probably use the fresh green mint leaves in summer, ideal for waking a tabbouleh or bring a scented note to your fruit salad. There is another way to enjoy it. Once distilled, the flowering tops of spearmint give birth to an essential oil consisting of 40 to 80% carvone and menthol little, unlike the essential oil of peppermint or that of wild mint. The presence of carvone gives it a fragrance with notes chlorophyll. You can find it under different names: Spearmint, Sweet mint or spearmint.

WHAT ITS PROPERTIES?
